Legal Editor

We are seeking a meticulous and highly skilled Legal Editor to join our dynamic editorial team. In this role, you will be responsible for reviewing, editing, and proofreading a wide range of legal content, including case summaries, legal articles, contracts, statutes, and regulatory updates, to ensure accuracy, clarity, and compliance with legal standards. You will work closely with legal writers, subject-matter experts, and publishers to produce high-quality, publication-ready materials for both print and digital platforms. This position requires exceptional attention to detail, strong legal research abilities, and the capacity to interpret complex legal language into accessible and precise content for a variety of audiences.
Key responsibilities include:

Editing and proofreading legal content for accuracy, clarity, and consistency

Collaborating with writers, legal experts, and production teams to meet editorial standards

Verifying legal citations, references, and factual details

Adapting complex legal material into user-friendly formats for diverse audiences

Ensuring adherence to publication deadlines and editorial guidelines

The ideal candidate will hold a degree in Law (LLB or equivalent) and possess at least 2–3 years of experience in legal editing, legal writing, or a similar editorial role within the legal or publishing industry. Excellent command of legal terminology, grammar, and style guides is essential, alongside strong research and fact-checking skills. Proficiency in legal research tools such as Westlaw or LexisNexis, and familiarity with publishing software, are highly desirable. The candidate must demonstrate the ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines, collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, and maintain a high standard of accuracy and editorial integrity.
Essential qualifications and skills:

Law degree (LLB or equivalent)

2–3 years’ experience in legal editing, writing, or publishing

Strong knowledge of legal terminology, citation, and editorial standards

Excellent attention to detail, grammar, and written communication

Proficiency with legal research tools (e.g., Westlaw, LexisNexis) and editorial software

Ability to prioritize and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
